The Golden Hour Endowed Fund
Dr. Catherine Golden joined the Skidmore English department in 1986. Over the course of four decades, she has taught Victorian literature—from Jane Austen and the Bröntes, to children’s literature and the illustrated book—to several generations of students. Dr. Golden's dedication to students and alumni (along with her homemade jams) has made her a beloved member of the English faculty.
In the fall of 2024, Dr. Golden endowed a fund for the English department, called the Golden Hour Endowed Fund. This fund will support in perpetuity student-centered initiatives and activities for English majors, especially those that build community. These include the Golden Fellows program, which brings an English alum to campus each year to help current students plan for their own professional futures.
