2005 Skidmore Student Exhibition
February 1 - March 6
Guest juror of this year's exhibition is John Weber, Dayton Director of the Tang Teaching
Museum, who selected 51 works from 176 pieces submitted for consideration. All of
the paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, prints, photographs, and mixed media
works on display were created by Skidmore students in 2004. A total of 87 students
entered works; 39 are represented in the show. Weber also selected a number of awards
for outstanding work. These prizes are funded through donations made by friends of
the gallery, campus organizations, and community businesses. A complete list of winners will be posted in the in the gallery along with a juror's statement.
Weber came to the Tang from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where he served
as curator of education and public programs since 1993. He assumed his new position
in October 2004, directing the Tang Museum's curatorial and education programs, planning,
and administration.
