Anne Nisler
Anne Nisler, a longtime member of Skidmore’s housekeeping staff, died Sept. 8, 2013, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. She was 93.
Anne was born on March 3, 1920, in Mechanicville, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Amberstine) Clements. Anne was a housekeeper on Skidmore’s old and new campuses over a 17-year span, starting in 1967 and retiring in 1984.
Outside work, she was involved in several area organizations. A member of Catholic Daughters of America, she served as vice president of Saratoga’s Principessa Elena Women’s Society, and she held local, state, and national presidencies in the ITAM Post #35 Ladies Auxiliary.
Anne was predeceased by husbands Carl Martino and then Nicholas Nisler, sisters Lena Barber and Carmella Villa, and brother Peter Clements Jr. Her survivors include daughters Rosemary (Sean) O’Connor of Bayside, N.Y., and Carol Thomas Berrigan of Schuylerville N.Y., along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
