Two Skidmore students help sort donations for Skidmore Cares.

Faculty, staff, students, and alumni donate time, efforts, goods, and funds through the 18th annual event.

Skidmore organized a Nov. 29 faculty panel that offered multiple scholarly perspectives and the webinar “Peacemakers at a Time of War,” presented by the Jewish and Palestinian peace group Roots on Nov. 27.

‌As a reminder, Skidmore has sent letters to those affected by a data breach earlier this year and is offering complimentary access to Experian IdentityWorksSM for 24 months. To start monitoring your personal information, please visit the to enroll. You will need the activation code that came in your personalized letter. If you have questions about the product, need assistance with Identity Restoration that arose as a result of the security incident, or would like an alternative to enrolling in Experian IdentityWorks online, please contact Experian’s customer care team at 1-877-288-8057 by tomorrow, Dec. 7. If you have misplaced your activation code and need a new one, please reach out to Skidmore's IT Helpdesk.

‌Tang Holiday Bazaar

‌The Tang Student Advisory Council invites you to the annual Tang Holiday Bazaar from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at the Tang. Dozens of Skidmore students will be selling a variety of wares, including art, jewelry, clothing, pottery, and more. For more information visit the .

‌ACA Cultural Night Market 

Join us from 5 to 7:30 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 8, at the Spa for an evening of tasty food, performances, and games. This year we are collaborating with Nihongo, Hayat, the International Student Union, the Muslim Student Association, and Raices to bring you all our different cultural street foods. Bring cash or Venmo on hand to buy a variety of finger foods and other treats.

‌Research guide on Middle East conflict ‌

‌Athletics annual apparel sale ‌ ‌

‌Athletics will host its annual sale of new and used apparel from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, in the Williamson Sports Center’s rec gym. Cash, Skidmore cards, and checks will be accepted for payment.

‌‌Kids Night Out

‌Kids ages 5 to 13 are invited to come enjoy well-supervised recreational activities provided by the great facilities of Skidmore College’s Williamson Sports Center 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8. No pre-registration is necessary. Cost is $10 per child. For more information, email Ron Plourde.

Athletics News

Nationally ranked and unbeaten hockey team off to record start 

‌The Skidmore College hockey team is off to the best start in its 45-year history with a 9-0-2 record. The Thoroughbreds are ranked 10th nationally and travel to seventh-ranked Geneseo State to close out the semester at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Skidmore is one of only two NCAA Division III teams without a loss this season. St. Scholastica is ranked fifth at 7-0. The Thoroughbreds lead the New England Hockey Conference with a 5-0-1 record. The team is among the national leaders in penalty killing (eighth), scoring defense (second), scoring margin (second), scoring offense (fifth), team assists (fourth) and team points (fifth). Goalie Tate Brandon is tied for that national lead in shutouts (three), is fifth in goals against (1.20), and eighth in save percentage (0.954). Kaeden Patrick is ninth in goals per game (0.82) and 11th in points per game (1.55). After the Geneseo game, Skidmore will be home Jan. 5 against defending NCAA Division III national champion and top-ranked Hobart at 7 p.m. and then on Jan. 6 against sixth ranked Elmira at 4 p.m. For more information, visit the .
