Research

My research students and I have been investigating the application of transition metal-catalyzed C- amination to the synthesis of heterocylic molecules possessing the cyclic urea motif. This methodology represents a concise approach to the chemical synthesis of such compounds. Students engaged in this research gain experience in the handling of reagents under anhydrous conditions and the application of 1H NMR and HPLC to the monitoring of reaction progress.
