The President's Society
For more than half a century, the President’s Society has been a cornerstone of Skidmore’s success. This community of philanthropic leaders, made up of alumni, parents, and friends, provide up to 90% of the gifts made through the Skidmore Fund each year. Their generous contributions are the driving force behind our students’ transformative journeys. President’s Society members receive exclusive access to unique experiences, such as webinars and in-person gatherings, culminating in a State of The College address by President Conner every spring. When you join the President’s Society, you join a community of leaders who embrace Skidmore’s motto, Creative Thought Matters.

In this special webinar for members of the President's Society, President Conner shared his experiences from the course he co-taught with English Professor Barbara Black, Tisch Chair in Arts and Letters, titled The Making of Modern Ireland. The culmination of the course was a two-week trip to the west of Ireland to immerse the 23 students in the literature, history, and culture they studied on campus. This was President Conner’s 27th trip to Ireland, many with students, with alumni, or for research.
